We’ve been having unpredictable behaviour where the event espresso plugin would generate url’s to events with lots of numbers like 5-2-2-2-2-2 at the end of the url. This would then lead to a broken page that doesn’t exist.

Nothing on the site would change, and then the plugin would serve an event url that is correct. Is this a known issue and what can we do to prevent it?

Looking at your site, those look like the correct event slugs.

Are you duplicating events to create new ones?

It’s not a known issue with Event Espresso itself no, but what it looks like is happening is something on your site is flushing permalinks at an unexpected time, so then WordPress isn’t registering the EE event posts rewrite rules.

Right now, the event links on your site are ‘broken’ in that if I use a ‘pretty’ permalink (which looks like you have set to ‘postname’, they don’t work, however if I use the ‘ugly’ links, the event works as expected.

(I’ll post examples in a private reply as you haven’t posted your sites URL)

This means the issue is with pretty permalinks and your sites rewrite rules.

If you go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks

You don’t need to make any changes, just load that page, does the first link now work?
