I just purchased and downloaded the latest EE4 core 4.8.38 on WordPress 4.4.2 on Azure. I get the following error when I activate the EE core plugin. I have tried 3 times by completely deleting the plugin, re-uploading and attempting to activate. Same error each time

Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘EE_Error’ with message ‘ The html messenger or the receipt message_type are not active. Are you sure they exist?’ in D:\home\site\wwwroot\wp-content\plugins\event-espresso-core-reg\core\libraries\messages\EE_messages.lib.php:557

It appears the plugin installs because the menus show up

Menus show but it blows up when you click the main Event Espresso menu link with: The incoming statuses argument must be an array with keys as the $status_id and values as the $status_code EEM_Status – localized_status – 240.

So it obviously is not installing correctly.

Hello,

Your issue is related to a Windows-based server which is not supported. We develop and test on Apache and Nginx servers.

https://eventespresso.com/requirements/

Could you switch your site to one of the supported servers?
