I have an event were tickets are worth X dollars. The goal is to distribute tickets freely to qualified persons via promo code. That portion of my event is working perfectly.
One twist I want to add to my event is that the free ticket must be approved after the user has completed registration. I don’t want to use the “Default Registration Status” set to “Not Approved”. This is because I don’t want the user to have to return to the website to complete checkout nor does the verbiage around this support my intentions (ie “payment not required at this time” etc)
In other words, the flow should work like this:
1) User fills out form
2) User uses promo code to make ticket free
3) User completes checkout process
4) Admin approves the ticket transaction
5) The ticket that the user has from step 3 is now valid
One other thing I need to figure out is I need to send 2 emails:
1) After the user completes step 3, the person should receive an email explaining the pending approval status. What trigger should I use for this?
2) After the user completes step 3, admin should receive an email to approve the registration. What trigger should I use for this?
I’m afraid that Event Espresso does not have the feature set to support the proposed registration flow. There may be another way to distribute tickets freely to qualified persons and require approval post registration.
May I ask is the same event also open to anyone else but they have to pay for the ticket? If so, do those tickets also require admin approval?
