An error has occurred:
First Name is a required value.
EE_SPCO_Reg_Step_Attendee_Information – _verify_critical_attendee_details_are_set_and_validate_email – 873

We started getting this error and kind of out of nowhere. Nothing really changed between when we were testing before and now where we are getting this.

Ive narrowed it down to some conflict with my custom theme but I can’t figure out where it may be coming from. We are getting jquery from wordpress and not including it ourselves and I have also disable all plugins and still have the same issue.

Sorry, I forgot to finish my question. Is there a common conflict for me to look for that can cause this?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Have you pin pointed this to your theme by temporarily switching to another theme?

Also, are you using a web host that forces caching or are you using any security plugins (e.g. iThemes Security) or plugins that relocate resources such as a minify plugin?

Yeah I switched to twentyfourteen and it worked. Plugins all still turned on for that test.

Server isn’t doing anything like that and I pulled it down to a mamp install to test and it’s doing it there too.

Hi, do you have a link to an event page available?

Hi, I see these Javascript errors occurring:

http://cl.ly/image/1S2Q3r1H0c0q

The second resource is related to the calendar. Are you trying to load the calendar directly via a template file.

On the first resource, it appears to be related to a menu dropdown. However, I’m not see a navigation menu on your site. Could you try temporarily deactivating that resource?

Awesome the calendar code I had put into the head was the issue. I had placed
“global $is_espresso_calendar;
$is_espresso_calendar = TRUE;”
into the header to get the event calendar to show in an Advanced Custom Field field via shortcode. It wasn’t working otherwise.

The other menu dropdown error is something that has been there for a while and is something that has been on my to do list. Never the less it was unrelated.

I also apologize I should have looked in the console for a JS error but it never occurred to me. Thanks for your help.

Hi Chris, thanks for sharing how you corrected the issue. Is this now working for you?
