When my event participant is inputting registration info the state section of address is populated with all kinds of stuff. people names, states and its not letting them complete the registraion.

Hi there,
You’ll need to go to Event Espresso > General Settings > Countries, then remove any of the State options that don’t belong there.

That didn’t help Josh. I removed what wasn’t necessary, but when you click the dropdown for state is has random peoples names in it as well. See the link at the beginning of this thread and it shows what Im talking about.

In your Countries dropdown, do you have a ‘Country’ called ‘Rebecca S Dean’?
If so (combined with the above) it likely means someone re-purposed the EE3 system questions on your site from State and Country to something else (apparently Name and State?), so when EE4 migrates those system questions it’s expected they will have been used for their intended purpose so EE4 creates ‘states’ and ‘countries’ from those values.
You’ll need to go through the countries and find the values that should not exist, then set the ‘Country Appears in Dropdown Select Lists’ value to No and save on each of those – http://take.ms/dH0KP
