I cannot seem to get all of the fields into the “Registration Notification”. I have inserted the short codes for email and phone and they still do not appear and I am not sure why I’d have to enter them at all in the first place. One of the custom fields I setup “Police Department” shows up in the Question and Answers section of the email on the bottom but not sure why just that one and not default fields that came with event expresso. I tried inserting [question_field name] per a support thread I found but the plugin rejects it saying it’s not allowed after I save it. here is my form: https://nashvilleeventsecurity.com/events/jack-daniels-bash-on-broadway/

thank you!

Hi Tim,

The ‘Police Department’ question is the only custom question included within your registration form currently.

The ‘Questions and Answers’ list loops through all of your custom questions and outputs the question and answer, as all of the other questions are ‘system’ questions they are now included within that section.

For the system questions you have unique shortcodes:

[RECIPIENT_FNAME]
[RECIPIENT_LNAME]
[RECIPIENT_EMAIL]
[RECIPIENT_PHONE_NUMBER]

How do you want this to be displayed as [RECIPIENT_FNAME], [RECIPIENT_LNAME] are already included within the event list – http://take.ms/b2WVJ

If you let us know how you want to display the questions we can provide some options.

[question_field name]

Can I ask where you found this? I’m not sure what that shortcode is intended for.

Ok why are these in the pre-selectable options on the right (in the 3 little horizontal line menu)
Email: [ATTENDEE_EMAIL]
Phone: [PHONE_NUMBER]
And they don’t work. I used the ones you provided and they work, thank you.

Hi Tim,

A shortcode that is shown from a menu (3 horizontal lines) means that shortcode is available for use in that specific area.

Here is an example:

If you were trying to use them in another area, then it may have been rejected.

If I’m misunderstanding you, then please share a screenshot of where they are being used and we’ll double-check for you.

Here is how to share a screenshot with us:

Thanks!
