In most countries in Europe we usually don’t use the State in our addresses. The same, and much more important issue we have with the location of the venue. Is it possible to deactivate the State field in the backend form and rearrange the address to a German format: In one case we have also the issue, that an address in Berlin is not shown on the right location in the map. Would it be possible to put in the location as GPS data? |
Hi Heinz, unknown can’t currently be removed from the contact area in the WP dashboard. However, the venue address can be reformatted and here is an example: https://eventespresso.com/topic/address-still-now-showing-correctly/#post-143031 Additionally, it is possible to expand the country name: https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/c1fee08ff6c2a525737f GPS coordinates are not available but is on our feature request. Could you please vote for that feature here? https://trello.com/c/7DKu6fMV/27-enhancement-to-core-latitude-longitude-for-venues — |

Hi there Heinz, We wanted to let you know about an enhancement in the current version of Event Espresso 4 that offers more flexibility for venue addresses. First, please backup your WordPress site and upgrade to the latest release of Event Espresso 4: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/ Next, there is some sample code in this link: https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/5e2658a1f7e7a9a6b5c0 Here is an explanation of the sample code: In the older versions of Event Espresso, you could change the formatting for the venue address. However, this would apply to all venue addresses. The new enhancement is more flexible as it allows you to change the formatting for certain countries. One of the entries is for Germany which has a country code of DE with a specific formatting for the address. New entries for additional countries could be added as needed. If you have changed the venue address through an existing function (e.g. another gist or example in a support post), then you may consider switching to the new one mentioned in the link above. Thanks again! — |
