Hey guys, I’m not sure where or if you take feature requests, however, we would LOVE to have a transaction notes field, specifically in the Transaction Details view. We run a great deal of student registrations through our company, several thousand per year, and would love a way for our multiple admin staff to document things such as cancelations, swaps and moves. Think of it as a simplified CRM for our registrants. I have read through the forums, and it appears that the only solution is to add an admin-only question to the registration form, however this can be very time-consuming as we would have to switch between the registration details and transaction details pages. It would be absolutely wonderful if you could add a simple text field that appears somewhere in the transaction details that can be easily accessed so we don’t have to click around. I know requests like this are time-consuming and you have functionality issues to address, but this would be amazing, even as an add-on. Thank you |

Rio, thank you for that… I don’t have a direct example, but I can give you a scenario we often run into and how a simple text field in the Transaction Details View could help administrators. We are a nonprofit organization that does training courses. Our last class was capped at 20 students however, I had over 45 registrations in total. This means that we had to cancel, swap, or move 25 registrations in order to get our final class of 20. The majority of registrations are simple: we either use Event Mover and put them in a future class, cancel and refund their tuition or swap them out for another student. The need for some sort of notes field comes in when we have to cancel a student and they are impacted by our cancelation policy, or we have to move a student who hasn’t paid yet and then swap them out for another student who hasn’t paid, or swapping out a student for another student and payment has already been sent in the mail but not logged into the system, or just having to move a student that hasn’t paid to another class, multiple times. Our goal is simply to have a field where we, the admin can add notes to a transaction so we create a “paper trail” on who and why they were moved, canceled, etc. IF the student pays when they register, we have a transaction history that we add notes in, thereby creating some sort of trail we examine in the future when they call about a possible billing issue or audit. We often get calls months after a class has been completed asking for details or confirming what charges were for. Sometimes we have to spend hours unraveling what happened simply because the original student who registered was moved, and then replaced several times. I wouldn’t go crazy with functionality, again, just a simple Transaction Notes field in the Transaction View would be great. Something super easy to input text into and see without having to click in different parts of the system etc. That would help us, and I’m assuming others, to create a trail if desired.
