I’m using EE3, but I solved the problem by digging deeply into the forum.
This is what I did:

Hi,
Can you go to http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/options.php(obviously change yoursite.com to your actual domain), and look for image_default_link_type. The box next to this should contain the word “file” (without quotes). If it doesn’t add it in and save the options (at the bottom of the page).
If this does not resolve the issue or if the field already contains the word file, please let us know.
