In testing for conflicts with another one of my plug ins, I deactivated all of my plug ins. When I tried reactivating EE, I was given this message:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare espresso_version() (previously declared in /home/birth9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso.3.1.12.P/espresso.php:34) in /home/birth9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso.3.1.21.P/espresso.php on line 35
I don’t know how to fix this. When I test to see if I can register for any of my events, I can also go through registration, and I get a note that tells me my registration is not complete until payment, followed by “Choose a payment option” and no options or links listed below. I did not have this problem prior to deactivating and really need it fixed fast. What do I do?
Thank you.
The error message is saying there are two versions of Event Espresso activated, one being 3.1.12, the other being 3.1.21. If you only see one active plugin in WP > Plugins, that may be because it’s a WP multisite installation, and EE3 is already network activated.
In any case, you’re using unsupported versions of EE3 that were originally released years ago and are not compatible with the current version of WordPress. I can recommend getting one of the current versions and removing the older versions.

Please also note that Event Espresso 3 is now on version 3.1.37.4 – many new features and bug fixes have been added since your version. You can purchase the latest version here: https://eventespresso.com/pricing/?ee_ver=ee3
