I updated the EE4 plugin on my site and received a fatal error (I sent off the report). It wiped out my database and would not allow me to do anything with EE. Luckily I had a backup and restored that. Since then I have updated my PHP from 5.3 to 5.5. I did not retry after updating PHP. I have not yet updated my wordpress to 4.4.2. Can you tell me:
1) the order I should update
2) is 4.8.33p compatible with 4.4.2
3) if not do I have to update EE4 – is 4.7.9p compatible with wordpress 4.4.2?
Thanks!

Hi Sarah,

Here’s the order/steps I can recommend for updating from EE 4.7 to 4.8:

1) Take a database backup
2) Deactivate all plugins except for EE4
3) Run the EE4 update and migration
4) Reactivate plugins after migration is done
5) Update WordPress to 4.4.2

EE 4.8.33p is compatible with WP 4.4.2
EE 4.7.9 is not compatible with WP 4.4.2
