Could someone help me. I accidentally activate event-espresso-core version 4 before deactivate the event-espresso version 3. How can I reset the system before I activate the version 4? Thanks.
You’ll need FTP access your site to de-activate one of the plugins.
Login using FTP and navigate to wp-content/plugins/
In there you’ll see the event-espresso and event-espresso-core-reg directories.
Change event-espresso-core-reg to another name, for example ‘event-espresso-core-reg-temp’
Now try to login to your Dashboard, that will de-activate EE4 and should remove the error. I would comment using FTP again to rename the directory back to the original name ‘event-espresso-core-reg’ (renaming it back to the original name will not re-activate the plugin).
Now if you previously did not create a Full Site Back-up, this would be the best time to do so as EE4 is a vastly different system to EE3.
Then simply de-activate EE3, activate EE4 and run through the Migrations.
If you have access to the WordPress dashboard, please deactivate all Event Espresso plugins and then activate just EE4.
If you are locked out of the dashboard, you will need to use FTP or your hosts control panels file manager to rename the event espresso folders (just add something to the end).
This will force WordPress to diable those plugins and give you access back.
Thanks for the support. It already resolved as your suggestion. 🙂
