Hi

I am just installing Event Espresso for the first time, it has installed and licensed and all the back end appears to work great however when we try to view the event it fails every time.

Fatal error: Call to a member function is_espresso_page() on a non-object in /home/jumpwork/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/CPTs/EE_CPT_Strategy.core.php on line 337

For example:
The URL is http://www.jumpworks.co.uk/events/infusionsoft-academy/

This is a fully updated wordpress install using the OptimizePress Theme and a variety of commercial plugins.

Help always appreciated

Hi Ashley,

It’d be good to narrow down what’s causing this. Can you try installing the theme test drive plugin and view the same page while test driving the twentyfourteen theme? Regular visitors to your site will still see the OptimizePress theme when you do the test drive.

Hi Josh,

I have tried that and sadly get the same problem.

What else can i do to help debug this?

Hi Ashley,

The key to troubleshooting this is find out what’s modifying the main WP_Query. Usually that’s something a theme might do, but it’s possible for a plugin to make that happen. So to continue you can try deactivating all plugins except Event Espresso and check to see if the error goes away.

If the error goes away, you re-activate the plugins one at a time, then check for errors again until the error comes back. When the error comes back, you’ll know which plugin was modifying the main WP_Query.
