I need to install and set up EE3 while keeping my current registration system active until EE3 can take over.
My website currently runs Event Espresso’s predecessor, Advanced Event Registration Pro (developed by EE’s Seth Shoultes). I expect there may be some conflicts due to the shared lineage of these plugins.
I get the following error when trying to activate EE3:
"Fatal error: Cannot redeclare isEmptyArray() (previously declared in /home/*****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/advanced-events-registration-pro-version/includes/functions.php:3) in /home/*****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/functions/main.php on line 7"
Likely deactivating the AERP plugin would resolve the conflict, but I need to keep registrations open while I develop the new system in EE3.
1) Is there a way to have both plugins coexist on this WP installation?
2) Can I set everything up in EE3 on a different WP install and then export / import it all to my current site?
Option #2 where you set the plugin up on the other site will work. You’ll copy all the database tables that have “_events” in their name from the development site **after** you’re done with Advanced Events registration.
