We recently purchased EE4 to upgrade from Decaf. When I installed 4 and deactivated decaf and activated 4 it began taking me through the migration process. The migration process almost complete but on the third step (of three) it timed out. Now the plug-in appears to work but it doesn’t appear in the sidebar like it did with espresso decaf. Do I need to get back to the migration process somehow? I can’t find my way back to it through the settings.

Thanks

Hi Rob,

I am sorry for your troubles. Did you get an error when the migration timed out? Can you check that EE is active under plugins? Can you deactivate and reactivate?

Hey Jonathan. When the migration timed out it gave me an error about memory usage so I followed the troubleshooting guide and added define( EE_MIGRATION_STEP_SIZE, 10 ); to my wp-config file. However when I returned to the plug-in settings it didn’t give me an option to continue with the migration. It’s as if it finished, already- only I’m not seeing Event Espresso in the sidebar or topbar when logged in now. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Any suggestions?

I was having these troubles with a local version of the site running on MAMP so credentials wouldn’t be helpful. Instead I went to install EE4 on our testing server so I send credentials.

I guess the issues had more to do with my local environment- Upgrading the plug-in on the site on our testing server ran smoothly.

Thanks for your help!
