Help! Everything was working smoothly when all of a sudden the export function stopped working properly. No matter what format I use (CSV, Excel, etc) the report only contains the first 10 attendees and no one else. Probably not related, but also over the last week, admin email stopped receiving registration confirmations (but still getting payment notifications). Not sure what is happening. The site is live and was working well as of about a week ago – all reports and e-mails were working properly. |
Hi Elizabeth, Are you running the latest version of Event Espresso? If so could you temporarily deactivate EE through WP Plugins and then reactivate and re-test? — |
I am not running the very latest version, as I have 2 sites set up that are live, and I didn’t want to run the risk of having anything breaking/not working after updating. If I temporarily deactive EE then re-activate, that shouldn’t cause any problems to the site? I can certainly try that… |
Could you share the version number that you are running? Deactivating and reactivating should not cause any issues. — |
Event Espresso version I think the host/server might have something to do with the email problem, but i will try to activate/deactivate and see if that fixes the reporting/exporting problem |
no that did not fix the export issue… |
Been doing some more testing, and it appears this is only happening with one event. I tried exporting a similar event created last yeear, and the export works fine (over 100 attendees). for some reason, it doesn’t want to export the entire list for this event. even if i try to export attendees from all events, it dumps out all attendees from last year’s meeting, and still only the first 10 from this year! |
Hi Elizabeth, This may sound like a strange question but please bare with me 🙂 How are you loading the attendees? Can you explain the steps you are currently taking. |
Not at all – I’ve tried exporting the attendees using every option possible in the software, all of which end up with the same results – only the 1st 10 registered! I have several other events I’ve created the same way – and I do not have this problem with the others….no trouble exporting the others, so I’m sure it’s not operator error. the way I usually do it Is to click on attendees under the event of interest – then export to Excel. I’ve tried it all of the ways possible with the same result, however. |
Is this event the latest event of them all? Would it be possible for me to take a look at the admin? I can’t reproduce this locally so I would like to view the events so I can see if I can find what is happening. If so please send temporary login details using https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ |

Yes it’s our most recent event (ID 6) Just sent the login details. thank you! Liz |
Hi Liz, I can confirm the issue you are currently seeing on your site, but I can not reproduce it locally. The next step is to try a full troubleshoot, de-activate all plugins other than Event Espresso plugins, then try to export the attendees and see if you get the full list. Personally I would recommend cloning the site locally and troubleshooting there. I use a plugin called Duplicator which creates an ‘installer’ and data package to allow for easy installation locally but there are many options depending on what your are comfortable with. Has any of Event Espresso functionality been altered? Its an odd issue that will likely be hard to reproduce. In any case, it would be a good idea to backup the site now, both the files and Database before making any changes. We have a guide posted here: |

Thank you – i have backed up the files and database and played with deactivating most of the other plugins (they are virtually the same as what I have on a similar website, which works fine). i’m guessing it has something to do with the event itself, because when i load last year’s meeting attendees from the same website, it exports fine. When i load this year’s, sometimes the export function doesn’t even work at all! Anything I can check in terms of differences in events that might cause this?? |
Hi Elizabeth, It may be something within the event. Is it possible for you to send the database backup to support@eventespresso.com along with the name of the event that’s not exporting the full attendee list? If so, we can look at the data for clues on why it’s not working. |

Hi Josh – I am unable to download and send that large file here – any chance you could log in to my admin account and download it from my backup list on the site itself? |
Hi Elizabeth, I checked and I’m afraid that the backups you made were for the entire website. We only need a backup of the database. I did look over the attendee list and I think it may be the extra column entry for attendee #11 (which the registration happens to have the same name as the name on your account here). If you can send us FTP credentials we can likely get the entries straightened out. Or if registration #11 isn’t needed, you could try removing that one and run the export again. |

Sorry – guess I’m not sure exactly how to back up just the database – I can go back and look at the plugin I used. Attendee #11 is me – I have registered myself for events in the past without a problem. Do you really think that having myself registered will mess the export up? If so, I can try removing myself from the system and let you know what happens. |
Just took myself off the registration list – that fixed the problem! Never would have figured this one out in a million years – wondering what the conflict is?? Thank you! |
