Hi,
If I put a picture at the top of an event and don’t create a manual excerpt any image caption text gets included in the auto excerpt.

If you go to this page http://www.foodadventure.co.uk/events/ and then scroll right to the bottom you’ll find a Test Event.
The excerpt reads :-

‘Welsh Chef of the Year, Ryan Jones” is the caption of the image you can see if you open the event.
I’ve overcome the problem on the 1st event on that page by creating a manual excerpt.
Please let me know once you’ve examined the issue so I can delete that Test Event.

Hi Lorenzo,
So if you look at the first line of text in the image you sent. After the phrase Look no further, it says “Welsh Chef of the Year, Ryan Jones”. This is not part of the text, it is the caption of the photo that is at the top of the event page. If you click on “Test Event” to open the detail page you can see the original text and picture (with caption).
Hope that makes sense.

Hi Carol,
That does make sense, thank you for reporting this.
We have raised a ticket for the developers to investigate this, in the meantime I would advise manually creating the excerpt to avoid this issue.

A little follow-up on this: Event Espresso 4.4.0.p was released today and includes a fix for the issue you reported here. You no longer need to manually create excerpts in order to avoid caption text in the excerpt.
