I’m having a few issues with some random events being shown as sold out, even when they are not.

So for example this event: https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-woodcarving-9/

In the admin panel I see 5 approved registrations, 0 pending, 0 not approved.

However under quantity sold I see 6 sold, yet still only 5 registrations. The limit for the tickets for this event is 6, so its showing as sold out. Yet I cannot see this fictions 6th sold ticket.

Hi there,

You might find the 6th sold ticket in the Transactions view, that can happen if the registration wasn’t finalized.

But I can’t view the transitions per event… and there are thousands.

I am pretty sure that’s not the reason, or it would show up in pending registrations. They always do when not yet paid up.

Hello, could you please share a screenshot of the datetimes and tickets editor within the event editor for this event?

Thanks, it is sold out because there are no more ticket options available:

The limit on the ticket along with the datetime is 6 and there have been six spots sold.

If you are having trouble finding that last registration (e.g. you have actually sold 5), then click on the links that shows approved, pending payment, and not approved. It appears in the top right area of the event editor:

I can see WHY its sold out, but there have only been 5 tickets sold. There are no unapproved or pending payments waiting. That’s really the problem.

It happened to another event yesterday too.

Hi mpurse,

On that event if you view the registrations, did they all use the same payment method?

If so which payment method did they use?

2 x paypal
1 x eWay via Mijireh
1 x Promo code (added by admin)
1 x no transaction (added and approved by admin as it he registrant is the tutor).

It’s a fairly standard mix of how our sales are made up.

BTW, I saw the test registration. We have had to increase the ticket allocation to enable the event to continue selling, so its not currently showing as sold out.

Hello,

I had a question about these:

2 x paypal
1 x eWay via Mijireh
1 x Promo code (added by admin)
1 x no transaction (added and approved by admin as it he registrant is the tutor).

On initial glance, that is 6 registrations which matches the limit from your screenshot. They should have a status of registration approved. However, could you share more information on this one?

1 x Promo code (added by admin)

Was that a registration that was manually added through the front end registration checkout via a promo code that then made it free? If so, that would also be registration approved.

Note that the status of registration approved determines whether a registration is counted / complete so you could manually add a registration without a payment and then mark it as approved.

I make that 5 registrations, not 6.

Promo code was added via the front end yes. We use this method a lot (actually as gift voucher code workarounds). It works fine and creates no issues.

1 x no transaction (added and approved by admin as it he registrant is the tutor).

There is a transaction for that registration within EE right? Just that there’s no payment from any form of payment provider.

The reason I’m double checking is it looks like somehow, somewhere along the way the sold value is being incremented twice for a registration, so trying to narrow down possible causes.

Would you mind if I take a look at these registrations? If not can you send temporary login details using this form:

Yes there is. It’s still five in total. 2+1+1+1 = 5

Yes I will send you a log in. Bear in mind we have now increased the ticket numbers so that we can continue to sell, so it’s not showing as sold out.

Yeah I know its five 🙂 That’s why I think one of the registrations has incremented the sold value twice.

Bear in mind we have now increased the ticket numbers so that we can continue to sell, so it’s not showing as sold out.

That’s fine, its not the event I’m interested in, but the registrations and payment log.

Hi Tony,

I replied to your email. Hopefully you can get in ok.

Hot off the press, we have another one. We sold a ticket for this event today and now it’s showing as sold out: https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/basic-electrics-43/

There are 10 tickets available for it.
7 Approved registrations
1 Pending registration

Yet now shows as sold out.

This last event is really baffling me. I’ve upped the tickets available and its still showing as sold out.

OK, it’s showing as for sale again. But showing as 10 registrations, where was actually it’s only 7.
