Hi,

Thank you for releasing the much awaited promotions add on. I have 3 questions.

1) Will my customized templates for receipts and invoices be disrupted or changed after installing this add on?
2) Can I put in a discount code on the backend. Alot of the registration is done on backend as users are at the shop and pay via inhouse credit cards therefore we require the discounts to be added in.
3) How come I was not alerted that this addon was made available. How do I set my settings to receive information of this preferably via email.

Hi there,

1) Will my customized templates for receipts and invoices be disrupted or changed after installing this add on?

I don’t think so, but if you’ve made some customizations that involve modifying core Event Espresso code, then you’ll lose customizations because an update of Event Espresso core to version 4.8 will overwrite your modified code. You can double check this by cloning your site onto a development environment and run the update there first.

2) Can I put in a discount code on the backend. Alot of the registration is done on backend as users are at the shop and pay via inhouse credit cards therefore we require the discounts to be added in.

No.

3) How come I was not alerted that this addon was made available. How do I set my settings to receive information of this preferably via email.

You can sign up for our email newsletter to receive updates about new products after they become available.

Hi Josh,

Appreciate your prompt and straight to the point reply.

1) Was hoping that you knew so that I dont have to do that cloning method. Coz alot of modifications to the template.php was done by external developers, its going to be hard for me to trace them.
2) Will you look into this or can I add a payment and put in the coupon code in so that on receipt it shows that they applied a certain coupon.

To give you an example, we give current students a $20 off if they sign up the very same day for the next course. So they go to the cashier and the cashier registers them for the next course with a coupon code added.

Hi there,

There’s really no for sure way for me to know what your developers customized and where. If they customized core files, the changes will be overwritten when you update. If they customized external files the update will not overwrite them, but they should be tested against the new version to ensure they still work with the new version.

Per item #2, you can do the registration on the front end to allow for inputting a promo code.
