I am running Version 4.10.43.p of EE and WP 6.1.1.

The EE events page has disappeared.

I’ve received 6 completed registrations to this event with no problem.

now when a potential registration clicks the registration button which is linked to the url: couplesinstep.com/events a 404 page appears. Previously that link brings up a page that lists events. THe user than would click on the event they wanted to register for and the registration process would kick on.

Just an update: there is another post about this same error: The post is called “All Events page showing 404” and the first post in that thread was posted on December 29, 2022.

I followed the directions given by Tony to go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks and Make no changes and just hit save.

My events page now seems to be working again. I will be keeping an eye on this and sure hope it is a permanent fix instead of a temporary one as the steps to repair, if this repair doesn’t work, seem daunting!!

Hi there,

To explain a little, this happens when ‘something’ (it could be anything on the site) flushes permalinks earlier than expected so before Event Espresso has hooked in and added its permalink rules.

The above flushes permalinks from an expected point so we know that EE’s rules are added then and the event links work again. I can’t say that is a permanent fix because it is not actually Event Espresso breaking this, it is something else forcing the rewrite when it’s not expected.

As a one-off, it can happen when something triggered the flush at a point that isn’t normally an issue, but if it starts happening regularly we can work through some troubleshooting steps to try and narrow down the cause more (I can’t just fix it because the reason it happens, but we can troubleshoot further to see if we can find the cause).

Thanks Tony. I’ll be keeping an eye on this. And hopefully it’s a one-off. Appreciate your presence in the background and I’ll be in touch if it’s not a one-off. Have a good day.
