I’ve put in 2 events recently and submitting those events, and they aren’t saving. Please help!! ๐ |
Hi Julie, Can you update to the current version of Event Espresso if your version is out of date? |
|
|
Hi Josh, it is asking me to update to version 4.4.2. Is that what I need to do? Sorry probably a silly question. |
That’s the WordPress version when it says 4.4.2. Did someone else install your copy of Event Espresso? |

OK, looked at everything and had our web designer look too, and event espresso is all up to date. I tried again to submit a new event and this is the error I got: There was an error in your submission. The event was not saved! Please try again. |
Hi Julie, I checked and it turns out your site has an older version of EE, it’s 6 versions behind what’s currently available for EE3. The version you have installed right now (3.1.37.1.P) will not save events because the version of WordPress will not let anything save if the post title exceeds a set number of characters. You can renew your support license for Event Espresso to get the latest version via 1-click updates. If you prefer not to renew right now, you can also grab the latest version of Event Espresso 3 from our github repository: https://github.com/eventespresso/event-espresso-legacy/releases/tag/3.1.37.7 |

Hi Josh, what is 1-click? I clicked on the links that took me to files which I’m not sure what to do with next. Do you have any direction for me? Thank you! |
Hi Julie, The 1-click software updates are only available if you have a current support license. Since it appears that you do not, your other option is the manual update. Here’s a link to the instructions: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-upgrade-event-espresso/#manual-update-ee3 This may be something that your web designer can do if you need further help. |

If I were to renew our support license, would it be easier to upgrade EE on our word press? Our web designer is not familiar with EE, it looks like I will be getting this fixed. I would appreciate the easiest way to get everything upgraded. What do you think? I looked at doing it manually, and I was confused. |
Hi there Julie, Your previous support license was a personal support license for Event Espresso 3. You can purchase it here to reactivate support services for your site: https://eventespresso.com/purchase/?slug=personal-license One-click updates means that you’ll see an update notice in your Plugins screen in your WordPress dashboard. You’ll be able to use stay up to date by using that option as long as your support license is active. Does that help? — |
