Usually, that happens when either, you have an invalid offset set as your ‘Timezone’ in Dashboard -> Settings -> General -> Timezone
That should be set to a location closest to your timezone, not a manual offset wuth as UTC+5.
Or another plugin is using the function date_default_timezone_set() which causes problems within WordPress. Do you have any other plugins that deal with dates at all? Calendars, scheduled posts etc.
If you create an event, set the date and time (you can use today and and set the start time at 9:00am and end time as 5:00pm) then save the event, do the event times change within the event itself?
So I changed the time zone to “New York” instead of -4UTC, which is what it was set as. Can you check the times of the events now?”

My calendar is fine today. I checked and the time and day are all the same as I set them to be.

Also, the day before all this I downloaded the plugin for “Promotion” and my website went away for the whole day…this is what my webmaster said about that:
Jill: “Yesterday when you installed the promotion plugin, that’s what took down our whole server, so something is up with it.”

So Tony, should I remove that plugin? Is it going to mess up with the events on my calendar?
The Promotions plugin shouldn’t bring a site down normally. Your webmaster should be able to troubleshoot the issue by activating WP_DEBUG mode, then try activating the plugin, then check the debug log. This way we’ll all know more than “something is up with it” and have a clear path to a solution.
