Hi guys

After booking the conference and paying for the ticket I need users to be able to log in and book sessions (limited by places) at the conference. Is this possible within the plugin?

Thanks

Jamie,

How are you today?

If you used Event Espresso to handle the session registrations, each session would need to be a separate ticket for that event/datetime. The price for the individual sessions can be $0, and you can require someone purchase the conference ticket too.

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-ticket-bundle/

Does that help?

I think this could do it thanks Garth.

So just to recap – the user lands on the page and selects the full conference ticket at e.g. $500 and then selects the sessions they want to attend at $0?

This would work if they were doing it all in one go but what if we needed to sell tickets now and didn’t have the agenda finalised so needed the user to book sessions closer to the time?

Thanks again

Yes, it will be a problem if people need to select a different session ticket later. Individuals can update their registration details (registration questions and answers), but not their ticket selection since that would involve many things e.g. checking for quantity available, balances or credits with amounts paid, etc.

Ah that’s a problem then. Is there any other way of doing it? I read about using a membership plugin and the ticket buys that and then the events are all free events…

Hi Jaime,

I have an idea that may work but this will work best if there are around 10 sessions or so. If there are more than that then it becomes difficult to manage.

Event Espresso 4 has a required ticket option. The base ticket (first one) could be set to the price of the conference and then the sessions could be set to free or zero.

You can then set the quantity that will be available for each conference session.

Again, if there are a smaller number of sessions, then this approach will work. However if there are many (15+), then this won’t work as expected.
