I saw in the instructions to use the Vector Maps add-on, the custom-files directory contents must be uploaded. I uploaded the files to wp-content/uploads/espresso/ and then activated the Vector Maps plugin. But when I try using [EVENT_CUSTOM_VIEW template_name=”vector-maps”], the shortcode is not rendering. Did I miss a step?

Hi,
Sorry for the confusion. It sounds like you may have stumbled across the instructions for the “Custom Files Add-on”, which is completely different, and much older, than the “Custom Templates Add-on”.
The Custom Templates add-on, and all of its templates, should be installed like any other WordPress plugin. These files should NOT be uploaded to the wp-content/uploads/espresso/ directory of your server.

Just curious. Were you following this documentation?

If so, I just updated the text to try and separate the two different plugins.

Ah ha! Thank you. I was reading this doc for installing the Vector Maps. I saw the custom-files directory and thought they must be the same thing. I now have installed the Custom Templates Add-on and all is working as it should be. Thanks!
