What determines the url of events? I recently noticed that /blog/ is being added to my event urls. Our client doesn’t want this so I need to know how to remove it. The site is here: http://www.hindmansanchez.com/

Hi Melinda,
Can you look under Event Espresso > Events > Templates, and let me know what is in the Event Slug field? You can change that to whatever you like.

The slug is “events” but I don’t see that anywhere in an event url. For example this event url: http://www.hindmansanchez.com/blog/education/ask-the-experts-loveland-location/

Hi Melinda,
Would you happen to be using the filter on this page: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/change-events-cpt-slug/ ? If so, you will need to remove it since we added that field in the Templates area.
Also, can you check that your permalinks setting is set to “Post Name”? You’ll find that in Settings > Permalinks.

I found the problem! The permalinks are set to /blog/%category%/%postname%/.
Problem is that we need it that way. It was set up that way in order to match the urls they had created in their old Drupal site so we could avoid setting up redirects for the new wordpress site.
Is there any other way to remove /blog/ from the event urls?

Hi Melinda,
Event Espresso uses the permalink settings so if blog is there then it will also appear in the event URLs.
