Hi there. I’ve been reading almost every post about inaccurate times and dates as it refers to this plugin. The issue I’m having is that the time displayed on the single event page is 4 hours earlier than the time I’m entering when making the event. If I enter 10am it displays as 6am. Same with the end time. When I click on the calendar icon to add to my calendar the time shows up accurately in the Mac calendar. I’ve tried a few things that were suggested where I had control:
> Deactivated all plugins
> Made sure the time settings in the admin settings area reflected my time zone which is New York.

The only “if” factor that I can see might be worth checking out is that the theme I’m using “Native Church” by IMThemes already has an event functionality. Event Espresso is more robust and I’d like to use it instead. However the native event and calendar funtionality is not controlled by plugins. It’s built into the theme and I don’t have the knowledge to disable it so that I can test the results.

Is there any thing that can be done to help me with this issue of the time showing up 4 hours early in the display?

Here’s my important information: THANKS!
Pete

Hi Pete,

You can test another WordPress theme without actually changing the theme by using the theme test drive plugin. If it turns out that 4 hour time change is caused by the theme, we can take a look at the theme’s code and offer suggestions on how to disable its time changing feature, if you can send a copy to the support @ this domains’s email address.

So the code in the theme that’s breaking the timezone functionality on your site is located in the header.php template file, on line 44, which is this:

date_default_timezone_set($offset);

You can either comment that line of code out or remove it to fix the time display on your site.
