Hello.
I have a small conference with 10 small events. I tried to use the mult-event add-on, but it requires the user to change quantity, view cart, return to event list…the user has to this 10 times if he/she wants to buy one ticket for each of the small events.

Instead, I created 1 event with 10 ticket selectors (one for each small event). Have 3 questions:

1. because I have 10 tickets, I need to group certain types of tickets together and separate them for others via a text msg (preferable) , blank line, separator. For instance, 3 out of the 10 tickets are packages and hence need a separator. for some tickets I might need need to insert a comment. Is that possible? I know that you can turn on the ticket details option, but I do not want to display everything…Only the description part (and if possible, for specific tickets).

2. For one of the tickets on the list of tickets, I need to convey a message in the status field (or somewhere visible for that ticket) such as “Private Party – contact (123)123-1234 etc … Is that possible?

3. Without creating a new event, Is it possible to create 2 event pages for the same event ID displaying specific tickets (with View Cart …)? i.e. include/exclude certain tickets from being displayed on the list.

Also, please let me know if there are any plugins/add-on that addresses any of the above.

thank you.

Hi there,

1. because I have 10 tickets, I need to group certain types of tickets together and separate them for others via a text msg (preferable) , blank line, separator. For instance, 3 out of the 10 tickets are packages and hence need a separator. for some tickets I might need need to insert a comment. Is that possible? I know that you can turn on the ticket details option, but I do not want to display everything…Only the description part (and if possible, for specific tickets).

Currently, we don’t have an option to ‘Group’ tickets within the ticket selector.

It could be done, but would require customizations from a developer and would likely be specific to your use case.

If you are not currently working with a developer we recommend contacting the folks at Codeable who may be able to build this for you.

2. For one of the tickets on the list of tickets, I need to convey a message in the status field (or somewhere visible for that ticket) such as “Private Party – contact (123)123-1234 etc … Is that possible?

My apologies but I’m not sure I follow, where do you want to add the above?

3. Without creating a new event, Is it possible to create 2 event pages for the same event ID displaying specific tickets (with View Cart …)? i.e. include/exclude certain tickets from being displayed on the list.

Not at this time no, you could use CSS to hide the tickets on specific pages though.

If you link me to one of the pages you have I can give you an example of how to do that if it will work for you?

http://www.SyriacOrthodoxConvention.com This is a LIVE site.
goto online Registration.
Initially, I define an event for each of the activities we have at the convention. But it was not allowing me to select all the tickets that I need at once. For each event, I had to enter QTY, add to cart, return to event list and do the same for the rest of the events. that method did not fly for the convention organizers.
I defined one event with multiple tickets because I wanted the users to book all the tickets for all the events during the 3-day convention.
The last item on the ticket list is an event and it says “Goes on sale July 28” (date of the event). Instead of that, I wanted to say “Contact Peter for reservation at 123…”

As far as the ticket grouping, I do understand you currently do not have a way to do it. But, can I insert a visible comment line for ticket? I know that you can show ticket details:
a. I do not want to show all the details
b. you have the show/hide toggle
but, it does not accomplish what I would like to do. the user has to press the show/hide details.
thanks.

You can, but just to note that’s a lot of information to include in that field.

We have a filter available for that test, here is an example:

https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/3f756f5664ba4a38d48100345dd1ef40

You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/

You would change line 9 to return whatever text you prefer.

As far as the ticket grouping, I do understand you currently do not have a way to do it. But, can I insert a visible comment line for ticket?

Can you, yes, but it would be custom and it isn’t something we can walk you through under support. You’ll need some custom code to add in additional details and its not ‘easy’ or ‘simple’ to do when the ticket selector is involved as there’s a lot of logic happening in that feature.

I know that you can show ticket details:
a. I do not want to show all the details
b. you have the show/hide toggle
but, it does not accomplish what I would like to do. the user has to press the show/hide details.

You’ll likely find that altering the behaviour of the show details section to work better for your use case is much easier than altering the ticket selector itself.

A. You can remove/hide details from that section.
B. You could add some jQuery to the ticket selector to automatically open those sections (although it would open them on all tickets).
