Hello,

I would like to know where to edit the event single page. I would like to hide the Shares – social media logos and comments at the bottom.
Where do I edit this?

Hi Charlie,

If I’m not mistaken, those are coming from your single-page templates within your theme. You might have some setting within your theme that controls the output of those elements. However, comments might be controlled within your WordPress admin > Settings > Discussion Settings page.

Hi there,

Do you use comments on any section of the site?

If not you can disable them and one easy way to do that is using a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-comments/

With the above you can disabled comments for specific post types (like EE events/venues etc) or everywhere.

If you want to disable comments on specific events you can, but you’ll need to remember to do it on every event. To do that you find the Discussion meta box and uncheck ‘Allow Comments’, then save.

The share buttons on your site are from your theme and if it doesn’t have an option to remove those within the theme settings you can use some CSS:

.single-espresso_events .post-tags.share {
    display: none;
}

Just incase your next questions is how to remote the author info, you can do that with:

.single-espresso_events .auther-info {
    display: none;
}

Add either/both of those to Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS.

Also, you are hiding the event title which means you don’t need the ‘status’ banner to be injected into it (it’s csuing an issue with your themes share buttons due to how they are pulling in the event title), go to Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates.

Set ‘Display Status Banner’ to No and save.
