I have continuously run into issues where the sell until date changes to an earlier date. It has caused a lot of confusion for my client and their customers. Is this a known bug?
Not a known bug, but there could be an issue with another plugin on the site changing the timezone, which could affect the sell until date. May I ask is the difference of the changes consistent, for example does the sell until date for tickets that end sales at 8:00pm on one day, do they change to 2:00am on the next day?
No– it was usually off by months, though sometimes days. There was no consistent pattern in the changes. It only impacted some of the events as well.
The most obvious answer is I set the end by date incorrectly, but I did make sure to double check that when setting up the events and the amount affected by this (7 or so) makes me thing it wasn’t a one-off error on my part.
What that could be is if the event was edited at any time later, and there was an error with setting dates due to an invalid format, the original date could get changed to today’s date. Which would explain the change to an earlier date.
One way you could test this would be create a test event (you don’t need to publish it, it could be just saved as a draft). You set the Sell Until date to a date that’s not today and is a date you’ll remember, like June 1. Then save the draft and navigate away from the page. Then go in to edit the event once again, then save. Does the date remain to be June 1 or was it changed to today’s date?
