Hi, I saw a thread on this, but it was closed and didn’t seem to be resolved really. I have a problem – this notification is redundant really and unreliable in how it completes the short code things like date and start time (it sometimes includes these and sometimes it doesn’t). All my events are defaulted to pre-approval required, unless specified otherwise in the specific event. I notice that when I do a test registration for an event, for which I have “Pre-Approval” required, the registrant receives an email. I have asked about changing text in this email in other topics because I didn’t like the content. But now as I rethink this, I have chosen in the event itself to send a customized confirmation email (assuming it would override this generic Event registration pending email) to the registrant but it DOESN’T – it sends this generic email called EVENT REGISTRATION PENDING to the registrant. I want it to send the email I CHOSE in the custom email area (which I have also made the content of the default registration confirmation email as well), that I have already pre-determined and written that includes MUCH more information for the registrant that is highly customized for our specific needs. How can this notification be eliminated for pre-approve required events and have it send the confirmation email instead. Flow of emails should be: THEN Once the registrant is approved (using the “approve” link in the attendee list of the event) the registrant receives the Payment Confirmation Email that I have customized in the email templates. It seems with the flow as it is now, my registrants NEVER RECEIVE the registration confirmation email on events with pre-approval required – which is NOT ok. We have important information in that email template that our attendees for our classes need to receive. SECONDLY, my “invoice” email when I do approve the registrant, I have also asked it to use a custom email, which I created, and I select in the drop down of email templates to chose from. PROBLEM IS that the custom email tags: [start_date], [start_time] and NOT being exchanged for the data information, they are blank. SO my email reads: ” Thank you for registering for ? Advanced Agility which begins on at . ” And it SHOULD read ” Thank you for registering for ? Advanced Agility which begins on March 30, 2015 at 7:30 pm. ” Please help. Things are live! Thanks |
Hi Renee, the preapproval email can’t be set to use a custom email out of the box. If that is critical to your project, then I recommend getting in touch with a developer here: https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/ Otherwise, you can edit the content using this approach with a custom_functions.php to override the default content: The flow on a pre-approval An event admin would need to login to the WP dashboard and go to the specific attendee record and click on the awaiting approval link in red: http://cl.ly/image/3U3g36133N32 Then on the next page, you’ll see a send payment reminder option like this: http://cl.ly/image/1b2S3L0k1Q3e Note that the approve attendee option is set to Yes. Once you send that, their status will be updated to approved and they can pay for their registration. After paying, then they would receive the custom email that is set on the event. Hope that helps. — |
