Hi again! I have the primary contact email in General Settings set to my clients email account. However, event registrations are still coming to my developer email. I don’t know how to change this – is it because I purchased the plugin with my developer email? Is there a way to change this?

The only place where I have my email in the system is in iThemes security, so that i may receive backups and security messages. In the main system settings, all site notifications are going to a third email address. That third email address is NOT receiving registration emails either…

Hoping you can help!
Thanks!
Daphna

Hi Daphna,

The only place where I have my email in the system is in iThemes security, so that i may receive backups and security messages. In the main system settings, all site notifications are going to a third email address. That third email address is NOT receiving registration emails either…

Do you have you own user account on the site?

If so that user account likely uses your email right?

is it because I purchased the plugin with my developer email?

No, its likely because the ‘Event Admin’ emails default to use the ‘Event Author’ email address. This would be the email address of the user account currently set as the event author on each event.

Is there a way to change this?

Sure is 🙂

You can change all of the Event Admin emails to use the [CO_EMAIL] shortcode within the ‘to’ field, this means all of Event Admin emails will go to the ‘Primary contact email’ set within Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Your Organization.

TO do that go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates.

You’ll see a list of all of the default message templates used on your site.

Any that have a blue ‘Event Admin’ link, have the event admin context active. You need to change all of those, but I’ll show you the ‘Registration Approved’ template.

Click the ‘Event Admin’ link for the Registration Approved message template – http://take.ms/0YQVk

You’ll now be editing the Event Admin context for the Reg Approved message, notice the ‘To’ field is currently set to an EVENT_AUTHOR shortcode, by default its [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL]http://take.ms/5zw9h

Change that to either [CO_EMAIL] or [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] and save the template.

Repeat that for all message templates.

The other option you have is to set the Event Author of the events to a user account that uses the correct email address but you will then need to make sure this is setup on every event, altering the messages allows you to make the change once and all messages go to the company email.
