Hi, I am trying to export my event registrations CSV report into excel and for some reason, I am getting the screenshot when I try to do so. redacted – Event Espresso support team – LOC -Cindra |

Hi Cindra, That looks like Safari is opening the contents of the file right in the web browser. Could you try in any other browser and let us know if the issue occurs? — |
|
It worked in Google chrome. Now how do I get it to work in safari? |
|
I just tried the “All Registrations CSV Report” using Safari Version 9.0.2 (11601.3.9) and it downloaded the file instead of opening it up in the browser. What version of Safari are you using? |
|
Safari Version 9.0.1 (11601.2.7.2) |

Hi Cindra, These sound like what you are experiencing: http://helpcenter.verticalresponse.com/articles/VR2/Why-won-t-my-CSV-file-open-in-Safari https://support.urbanairship.com/entries/72988818-Exporting-Reports-to-a-CSV-file-in-Safari Could you go to the App Store and update Safari? I’m on 9.0.2 (http://cl.ly/18450e1O3i06) and the CSV files download rather than opening directly in the browser. — |

I went ahead downloaded Version 9.0.2 (11601.3.9). It still does not work. Are there some type of settings I need to change within safari? The “save page as” thing did work from your second link though. So that is good news but I really would like to eliminate that step if I can. |

Some of the answers in this stackexchange thread say to hold down the control key when you click the download button. |

Urg! Not only did this not work but I think it might have made it worse. Now when I do the “save page as” thing that Lorenzo proposed the student information is not appearing. Instead all I get is this… http://www.artnook.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Screen-Shot-2015-12-27-at-8.57.58-AM.png Please help! |

I found a similar thread HERE that shows someone else had a similar problem with Safari. The solution posted there is to add a new MIME type to your server which can be done using the .htaccess file within your site by adding:
That basically forces the browser to treat the file as a excel file and download it rather than opening it. If you are unsure of using FTP or editing the .htaccess file I would recommend contacting your host and have them do it for you (Apache may need to be restarted after making this change although its rare) |

Ok. That worked! Thank you! |
