We are a sport school offering swimming classes for children. I have set up the an event and activated the tickets and opened the registration. It used to work just fine until something happened. Now as I go to the event page there is just no button of any sort. There is no way to register for a ticket. There in not even a way to test the registration anymore. On the main page you find a table with the events. Those are populated by me. Then there is a button linking to the event page. The Event page is a EE Post. On this Page the user should see all the details and decide whether he or she wants to register for the event. But there is just no functionality on that EE Post page anymore. What I want is a button that will give the user the opportunity to register for the chosen Event. I tried everything and can’t figure out why the functionality just stopped working. Please let me know what I did so I can know that it will not happen during the main season. Please have a look at the problem as soon as possible because we are late putting the site online.

Did you just update to version 4.6.25.p? If so, any of your tickets have names longer than 255 characters?

I noticed this in the changelog:

Fix ticket selector in cases where more than 255 characters are in the ticket’s description

Have you archived any tickets by chance?

Hi Vassi,

I checked the event editor and what happened was “Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event:” was set to zero. I changed it to “1” so now it will allow registration. You can see the ticket selector for the event if you go to the /events/ page on your site.

I can look into the issue with there not being a ticket selector on the main EE post page, but it may help to know what’s been changed theme-wise or settings-wise since you indicate that it worked before.

Update: I looked further into this, and it appears to be an issue with the theme’s Style & Layout Settings > Default Blog Post Layout setting. If the setting is set to Default, Event Espresso post content displays as expected. If it’s set to Full Width or Narrow, Event Espresso post content does not display.

Dear Josh

Thank you so much for solving the problem. There is one more thing I don’t understand. I have enter the tax to be 20% and that works just fine when looking at the event post. When I start the checkout process the price without the 20% is shown. Why is that?

I could not finish the checkout process to see whether the 20% will get added at the end because of some error.

A valid transaction could not be initiated for processing your registrations.

The Payment set up right now is “BANK” I am about to intagrate Paypal. I am testing thew a incognito tab on the same pc.

Hi Vassi,

Re:

This is because the registration form shows the actual ticket price, not the ticket price including tax.

This is likely because you have access to the site restricted behind an http auth log in. If you remove that, you’ll likely no longer see that error. http auth works well for testing basic content but can interfere for testing e-commerce websites.

Hi Josh

I have disabled the http auth log and get the same message when trying to submit the registration form to the event.

I get the same massage but in German now which is very nice. But still I will not get forwarded to seen g any payment options.

Hi Vassi, could you ensure that your software is up to date?

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

Next, are you running any security or caching plugins on your site at this time?

Hi Lorenzo

I updated the plugin. All plugins are up to date. This is a list of plugins i use.
> Event Espresso
> Formidable
> Password Protect Staging (was deactiviated during testing)
> Thrive Visual Editor
> UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore
> WP Multibyte Patch

deactivated Plugins:
> Event Espresso Requirements Check
> Math Captcha

Is it possoble that my hosting provider (host europe) is blocking something the plugin needs for functioning? Is there a way to record the process that leads to the error. I need the site to work.

Hi Vassi, could you provide a link to an event on your site?

Thanks

Lorenzo
