Hi all, I’ve read over other posts on this topic and so far nothing seems to solve our issue. At random times the ticket page for our event will stop working and just load a 404 page. We then need to go in and re-save the site permalinks to get it working again. Nothing will have changed on the site from one day it works to the next it doesn’t. We don’t have any other event plugins on the site nor do we have any pages using the events slug either. Any/All advice welcome as its happened a few times now and has stopped people buying a ticket so its either fix it or we find another solution to sell tickets. |
Hi, While we’ve not been able to replicate the issue on our development and testing sites, we’ve seen this happen on some sites and the cause seems to be a combination of plugins and the theme. We’ve made a branch of the current release of Event Espresso that includes a change to when the Event Espresso rewrite rules are flushed. The change makes this happen later in the request. If it’s a case where another plugin (or the theme) on your site requests a flush of the rewrite rules later in a request, then this branch will help. You can download a copy of this version of Event Espresso here. Then you remove and reinstall the Event Espresso plugin with this version. |

Thanks Josh we’ll give this a try and see how it goes. Can we just swap the files out on the server or do we need to actually uninstall the plugin and reset it all up? |
It’s just a file swap. All of the plugin’s data is stored in the site’s database which is separate. File swap step by step: 1. Download the EE4 branch plugin from here **Important, see footnote[^1]** [^1] If you use Safari on a Mac, the default browser settings will unzip the file. If that happens you’ll need to re-compress the folder into a zip file, or use a different browser to download. |

Thanks Josh got it all swapped. For updates to the plugin will they continue to pull in this modified version or how do we handle that? |
You’ll need to swap back to the release version of Event Espresso to receive updates, the version above will not updates as ts a dev branch. The important part for you right now is to see if that version works any better and stops the above issue. If so we can include it in the release version so you can manually switch to that on the next update and then continue on as normal. |
