Hi there I have an event on Monday with over 1000 people attending, I am in the process of trying to set up as many iPads and Iphone as I can to assist with registration however I can’t seem to get the event to show up in the event espresso app. I get a 404 error – sorry, can’t log in.

I hsvr the newest version of the app, uploaded the espresso-serivices folder to the ftp and changed the permissions and I still get nothing.

Is someone able to please log into my account and have a look? the url is http://www.doltonehouse.com.au/weddingshowcase

Thanks,
Alicia

Hi,

Is the Espresso Services folder in the root of the site? I have tried

http://www.doltonehouse.com.au/weddingshowcase/espresso-services
and
http://www.doltonehouse.com.au/espresso-services

but neither is showing that the services folder is there. It should show a message like this http://d.pr/i/avS2

Hi there, yes it in 100% in the root folder, if I could send you a screen shot I’d show you where it is placed.

I already followed the instructions on the page you sent me and I’m still having the issue?

Hi,

Would you mind sending me FTP details to have a look direct?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Hi,

Thanks for that. I copied the espresso services folder to the root of the site, which is in a subfolder, so the message is now appearing, can you test the iphone app please and confirm it is working?

Hi there, it’s working on the iPhone but I’m still getting a 404 error on the iPad?

Sorry, my bad, I focused on the iPhone.

The iPad uses a different API. To briefly explain, iPhone and Android are using the Espresso Services, and we have a new API for iPad – the JSON API – which we are hoping to move everything over to in time.

You need to add this addon plugin – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/mobile-apps/#ipadinstall

Make sure you set the settings (there’s only one) so that the API is public, otherwise it wont work!

I should have mentioned that earlier so apologies. Glad the iPhone is up and running though.

Thank you for this, I have installed the plugin and now have it working on the iPad however it is only showing a list of 15 ticket purchases and I know there are over 250? also when I try search for some attendees it says they do not exisit

Hi Alicia,

If you have more than 100 events, attendees, or registrations you’ll need to update the app’s default settings.

You can go into the iOS device settings and scroll down past the apps developed by Apple to where you see individual app settings.

There you can tap Event Espresso and go into its settings and adjust the default settings as needed.

More info here:

Hi There, I made the changes you recommended and now the iPad app is telling me that there are no registrations  and it just keeps timing out?

Also we have over 1000 attendees, could this be part of the problem as the max number of attendees in the setting is 1000?

Thanks,

Alicia

Hi Alicia,

If you go into WP Admin>Event Espresso>API Settings there are settings there that can be increased to allow for more attendees/registrations.

Hi There, unfortunately that did not solve the problem, I update the details in the backend of the site but they did not follow through onto the iPad. I am unable to set those same attendees/registration in the seeting on the iPad therefore am getting the following error. “No Registrations The request timed out.

EventsAttendeesRegistrations

Hi There, haven’t not heard anything back yet and te evnt is on this Monday, we are also in Australia so ahead for your time. I would appreciate some get back to me. If I have 2000 attenedees but I can not get the apps working when I change the settings in IOS to 1000 attendees, will it still recognise all of the attendees? I don’t want to be stuck on Monday night with QR codes that will not scan? If the problem can not be resolved I just want some kind of confirmation that all codes will still scan even though I can not search for attendees in the ipad app.

Hi Alicia,

You could try using the older API (it’s a set of files that get uploaded to the same directory where WordPress is installed). With that, you can use the non-HD version of the IOS app which does not have the attendee limits like the new API has.

It looks like Dean checked and made sure that the older API was installed, but just in case it was deleted since then, here is a link you can go to when there is a download link for the older API:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-ticketing/

This is a link to the iTunes preview for the non-HD app:
