I created a menu item for my event list using the menu builder in appearance-> menus and selected the event list from the event espresso pages and it is on my website navigation. However, when you click on the menu/button it displays the home page instead of a list of my events.
Can you check to see if your WordPress theme has an archive.php template? If it does not, and it falls back to an index.php template this could happen.
If you can send a copy of your WordPress theme to support @ eventespresso.com we can investigate further.
The theme indeed does have an archive template, and I loaded it onto a test site and the event list displays so that’s not it. You can try temporarily deactivating all other plugins, then go to refresh your WP Permalinks by visiting the WP > Settings > Permalinks page in the admin. This will help rule out any plugin conflicts.
Another thing to check is if there is an “events” page set up in WP > Pages. If there’s an events page that may also interfere.
Thanks! This issue is now resolved. There was a deleted page with the same slug – I have to permanently delete it.
