I created an event and accidentally saved it before I was ready to display it. I immediately switched the status to Privately Published and set the visibility to Private. Unfortunately, the event shows up in the event listing page even after I clear the cache in my cPanel, in Sucuri’s admin screen and at Sucuri’s web site. The event shows up in the listing no matter what I do. However, clicking the link to the event takes you to a 404. I’m not sure how to make that listing hide again. Please help.

I was finally able to get the event to clear from the list but I don’t know how. Now I have finished updating the event and want it appear on the page. I switched the status to Published and updated. I can view the page for the event but it doesn’t appear in the event listing. I’ve cleared the cache in the cPanel again and within the site. This is very frustrating because I can’t seem to check my work.

Hi Doug,

I can suggest deactivating all caching while working on the site. Event Espresso in of itself doesn’t cache the event list.

Also, you can set the post to Draft status (instead of Private). This way you can review your changes while logged into the site (the Draft post status event will not be visible to logged out users).

That did not help. I’ve turned off caching and the listing at aestrainstitute.com/training is still slow to update, when I’m removing a course. It adds the event quickly. It’s that the events don’t disappear when I switch them to draft OR private. I’ve disable caching.

Are you logged into the site? If so that’s why they’re not disappearing. You’ll need to be logged out of the website for those to disappear.
