Hello! Sometimes one person will pay on behalf of another person for an event. This can cause problems when they are trying to find the specific transaction on Stripe (since it is under a different name than the credit card holder) for refunds. Our finance team is asking me if there is a way I can help them find the transactions more easily in Stripe. I noticed when I export the registrants for a specific event that there is Gateway Transaction IDs. Is this something they would see in Stripe? I don’t have access to Stripe at this time to check for myself… Another thing I was thinking of was adding a ‘Payee Name’ or ‘Credit Card Holder Name’ field to the registration form. So they would have this name to look for in Stripe. I look forward to your thoughts. Thank you! |

Yes, you can modify the registration form and add a custom field for payee. Your finance team can also check the transaction, then they will be able to see those who are paid under that payee. Thanks |

Thank you, Rio. Adding a payee name field was solution I proposed but it may not be added. (Hasn’t been decided) If we don’t add a payee field, is there another way to link the transaction in Stripe? |

Did you try this option? Your finance team can also check the transaction, then they will be able to see those who are paid under that transaction. The other option is to just simply ask your customer about thee payee name or email. before you check it in stripe. I will also ask our developer for what other options available for your case. thanks. |

Hi there,
Yes, searching for the payment TXN ID within Stripe should find the payment. Here is an example from one of my test sites, this is the view of the payment within the EE Transaction: https://monosnap.com/file/sqe97h9mOI2H9yYY4oJveyhThHlbmL Searching for that TXN ID in Stripe shows that individual payment: https://monosnap.com/file/1Ci0wAB6Z1d5hPN0k8NIg7xLgIdSSe Is that what you are looking for?
Personally, I’m not a fan of this, if the user has a typo in that field or misunderstands what they should enter there your back to square one again. |

Thank you, Tony. I agree that the Payee field option is not the best solution. I’ve passed it on to use the Transaction ID as a reference. I think this solves their problem. Thank you very much! |
