Having problems with the ap connecting |
Hi Russel, We used the information you sent with the support token form to log into your site, and are looking things over right now. Does the test site where you have things working have the same plugins and theme installed? |
|
Can you also verify whether the other site is on the same server, or is it with the same host, but on a different server? |
|
|
All same plugins Same host different server – if there is any more detailed info I can give the host co. re the permissions block as keep drawing a blank with them. |
Maybe they can move the site that you want to use the apps on, onto the server where it works? Short of that, maybe they can compare the security settings between the two. I installed a REST API logging plugin on the site you sent access to, and the logs are reporting 403 forbidden errors when I tried to send REST API requests that require authorization. It seems that something on that server is removing or blocking the Authorization header included with the REST API request. |

is it possible to send me a screen shot of the error so I can pass on to the hosting Co. They havent been able to find anything – said they would like to see the log Thanks |
I left the REST API Log plugin activated, so you can view the log by logging into your site’s WordPress dashboard, then go to Tools > REST API Log. |

Thanks I’ve sent a heap of those over the the hosting co. -they recon everything matches the server that has the test site ( that works) so see if i get a better result – I’ve installed the EEEvent app customisation plugin and that is working fine updating the logo on the app. So I have reactivated Application Passwords plugin in – do you think I should use that while testing or just keep everything turned off till I stop getting errors Thanks |
I don’t think it would matter one way or the other. Both Applications Passwords and the bundled Basic Auth plugin both use the Authorization header to authenticate the apps. So that’s where the host tech can look into, why does it seem that the Authorization header isn’t getting passed on this one server? |
