Hi EE folk! I have a pre-sales question for you that I would like some help with. My group, CRUX Climbing (climbcrux.org) is looking to leave Meetup.com because it’s expensive, and many people explain they’ve been confused that they had to go to two sites — one for information, and one to RSVP to an event. I’m looking to replace Meetup.com, and also add some new features. In the end, I want this to integrate with WooTheme’s Diarise theme so we can have a calendar of events, featured events, etc. The overall features I’m looking for are: “Meetup Style” event enrollment In order to get these features, which version of EE do I require, and is there guidance on integrating EE with Diarise? |
Hi Mike, Let’s take these one at a time:
Awesome!
There are a few hacks that make parts of Event Espresso integrate with Diarise, which I’ll touch on later. There is a calendar and calendar widget included with the basic version of Event Espresso, in case you’re looking at other themes.
Cosmetic-wise getting Event Espresso any theme (including diarise) to look more like meetup would most likely require some CSS customization. The process may be a bit different too. Check out our test site to see how the registration process works: https://eventespresso.com/download/test-drive-event-espresso/
This is a standard feature
This is a standard feature. Event Espresso has support for the standard PayPal IPN and PayPal Pro.
Events can be categorized, but they go one hierarchical level deep, so you may need to work around the indoor subcategories. One way to do that would be to assign events to both the indoor + the selected “subcategory”.
Event Espresso does not have this capability itself. There is a feature that will create a new WP post when a new event is created, so if there is a WP plugin that has these capabilities, you could use the autopost feature.
Our WP user integration add-on supports this They can store their contact and address info in their profile and these fields will auto-fill when register while they are logged into the site.
The minimum would be the personal license + the WP user integration, but you might want to look at Business license if you’re interested in a few more features. Here is a link to a thread in our old forums that shows how to tweak Diarise: https://eventespresso.com/forums/2010/08/diarise-by-woothemes/ |
