Hi. Event Espressso has disappeared from our WordPress menu bar and sidebar and none of our events are displaying on our website only the shortcodes for the calendars, for examaple, [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=21355] We have the EE4 Everything License and have the following listed in the active plug-ins Event Espresso – Events Table View Template (EE 4.4.9+)Version 1.3.9.p, Event Espresso – Grid View Template (EE 4.4.9+) Version 1.2.4.p, and Event Espresso – MailChimp (EE4.4.5+) Version 2.4.5.p – I’m thinking that we need to update something however I’m concerned that we will lose all of our events.

Hi there,

Sounds like your admin account is missing the EE capabilities and that’s relatively easy to fix.

On your site go to the dashboard (wp-admin).

In the address bar, change the address so you go to:

/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings&action=data_reset

Click on ‘Reset Event Espresso Capabilities’ ONLY (the other functions on that page will remove your data, so double check you click the correct button).

Does that fix the menu?

Thanks for your help. I went to the dashboard and changed the url from https://acuteservices.com/new/wp-admin/ to https://acuteservices.com/new/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings&action=data_reset and I got the error message “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

Hmm, strange.

What about: https://acuteservices.com/new/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings

Then click the ‘Reset/Delete Data’ tab.

I am experiencing the same issue — the Events Espresso tab has disappeared from my Admin sidebar and the above /wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings&action=data_reset approach isn’t working — it brings me to an endless login loop.

Can you send me temp login details so I can take a look?

If so send them over using this form: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Thank you, but those credentials don’t seem to be valid, can you recheck those please?

Hi there,

Just noting the issue for this here for any future readers.

EE5 requires PHP7.4+ to function so had deactivated on the site, the server will need the version of PHP in use to be updated before the above update can be applied.
