I’ve given some users the required capabilities to do attendance checking in the app. They’re currently able to see all events, while I’d like to restrict their access to the events I assign them to (I think this is required by our privacy legislation).
In your documentation I read that it’s possible to limit access to the events authored by the current user. However, I don’t think it’s possible to assign multiple authors to an event, so that wouldn’t work.
Do you know how I could restrict a user’s access in the app to specific events?
Thanks!
There’s nothing built into Event Espresso itself to allow for this other than the capability checks we have which allow you to limit a user to view only ‘their’ events (meaning events they are set as the author as).
As it stands without any custom coding the other way I can think to do this is to create a share users account with a specific role used for check-ins, that user account is then set on the events you want to give multiple users access to and they all log in using that same account. You could also have multiple accounts for this giving access to separate ‘groups’ of events.
Your solution might work for our use case, but it’s far from ideal. I think I will write some custom code for it myself! Thanks for your response!
