I downloaded the event espresso app and signed into my account, but I keep receiving an “error occurred, the requested resource could not be found but may be available again in the future. Subsequent requests by the client are permissible.” How do I get my event on the app? |
Have you followed the steps in the troubleshooting guide: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-event-apps/#troubleshooting |

Yes, added WP BASIC Version 1.1.3 pluggin and authorized it, am using (non HD) EE mobile app 4 and WP 4.6.1, contacted WP Engine to allow authorization and am now getting the following error: “The server was acting as a gateway or proxy and received an invalid response from the upstream server”. I noticed a thread where you recommended editing the .htacess file, I am not comfortable doing that, how can we proceed? Thanks in advance. |
Someone from Event Espresso support staff can make the edit to the .htaccess file if you can complete the form on this secure page: |
when should I hear back from them? Also will our website be public when we check in people in? and how does the whole authentication process go. Does each mobile device need to have its own password or can we just use one password? We tried adding and authentication plugin and it messed with our website. |
After the weekend, which is right now.
I’m not sure what you mean, can you explain a bit more?
By default it’s one password per user account. You can set up different user accounts with their own password if you prefer.
How so? We’d love to look into this further and fix the .htacess file on your site, but I’m afraid that you did not complete the secure form on the send log in info page. Can you resend and be sure to send FTP info? If we can get access to the files we can make the fix. |

ok I am not very tech savy what is FTP info? When I put the authentication plugin our website wasn’t letting people register for our event. |
You can get FTP information from your web host. Those details must not be shared here, but you can send them via the secure form on this page. May I ask which Authentication plugin was not allowing registration for the event? |

I hope I sent the right FTP information. Again I am not very tech savy when it comes to this kind of stuff! Thank you for your help and let me know if I have to resend it again. |
Hi there, I checked and we will need the other fields completed too. Those are the ones annotated with 2 & 3 in this screenshot. |

Hope you have everything this time. Again let me know if something is missing |
It looks like the Android app is working for your site. Am I correct to assume that you’re trying the iOS app? |
yes we wan to use iPads |
yes we want* |
Do you have an Android device that you can use instead? |
why is there no way to use an iPad |
Normally there is, but your server is returning a 403 Forbidden error when we try to log in with an iOS device. A 403 error is in response to a request from a client for a web page or help indicate that the server can be reached and understood the request, but refuses to take any further action. |
Actually you know what? The credentials you sent for logging into the WordPress dashboard have the user email address, not the username. So when you go to log in using the app on the iPad, please input the username for the username field. Even though the user email address will work for you when you log into the wp-login page, that’s not the username. |
so the username is the email address to login in to our site. Or is their another username somewhere? |
The username is not the email address. You can see the actual username by visiting the Your profile page from your WordPress dashboard. Here’s a screenshot that shows the location of the username field. |
