I have seen several threads discussing using Cart66 to tie a store in with Event Espresso. How do I get started with this? And, is it possible to keep the event registration information from event espresso, while still checking out with cart66? |
Hello there, Integrating Cart66 shouldn’t be a problem. It will, actually be separate functionality from Event Espresso. In other words, event tickets/registrations will be processed through Event Espresso, and product purchases will be processed through Cart66. With that said, we do have a way to add cart functionality to Event Espresso. If you are interested in that, please let me know. There is a workaround for it. |

Yes, we’re VERY interested. The site we are building is for a nonprofit, so ideally, in the end, people should be able to register for their classes, buy their products, and make donations if possible. Thank you! |
Okay. Since Event Espresso isn’t geared toward selling product, the reporting, etc. will not be as robust as Cart66, but it will make for a more seamless checkout process. I wish I had known this process before I started in support here. I went through what you are going through right. I hope this helps. See below. Currently the workaround for this is to create an event for the additional items you would like to be included and use the Multiple Event Registration add-on to add an add-to-cart link (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-events-registration-use-add-to-cart-link-instead-of-default-registration-form/) for those additional items. An example of this is available here: http://eetesting.info/3.1.josh/?page_id=4®event_action=register&event_id=1191 After you’ve added the other item(s)/donation as an event this is how you’ll add the items to the description of your main event and add these as additional option:

I use Cart66 and you’re not going to be able to combine both processes (buying stuff and registering for an event in the same transaction) unless you do what Jonathan suggests and use the Multi Event Registration add-on and create events as your products and use the cart link shortcodes. In that case, you wouldn’t be using Cart66 for anything, really, which may not be ideal since Cart66 probably has a better process for buying items. We do plan on building out the product functionality, but it’s not going to happen until after 3.2 is released. |
