Hi,

I had an important event when I found the pluggin for Event Espresso 4. From the demo I came across online, I decided to buy it but unfortunately it was a total disaster to upgrade from Event Espresso 3 (which is a free pluggin, that was working just fine) to Event Espresso 4.

The form got stuck on the enter personal information and when i check i found that the transaction failed stating there is no attached contact for this registration.

I have wasted precious resources to start all over again and also downgraded to Event Espresso 3.

The pluggin I bought is defective and I need to setup it the soonest possible else I want to be refunded.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi Ahmad,

Would you happen to be using the Managed WP Hosting plan from Godaddy?

That will break registration checkout since caching is being forced.

Hello Lorenzo,

Thanks for your prompt response. I am not using Managed WP Hosting from Godaddy. I am using WP on a dedicated server in my Data Centre.

Please advise.

Ahmad,

The symptom you described was actually fixed in an EE4 update a couple of weeks ago. Are you running the latest version?

Please advise if i can download the version 4 or i need to pay again.

Hi Ahmad,

Yes. You have access to the latest version of EE4 in your account.

You can install it, then run the migration script (follow the instructions once you active). Make sure that EE3 is not installed/activated on your site prior to installing EE4.

Hi Ahmad, changing versions isn’t necessary. We are just trying to ensure that you are running the latest software.

Are you on 3.1.37.3.P? If not could you update?

Next, are you using any caching services on your site or were you recently using any caching services?

The EE3 is a free version and it is working fine. We have purchansed a full license for version 4 but it is not working.

Please advise.

Hi Lorenzo,

I am not using any caching service.

I installed the latest version but it is not working. I had to revert to the old version which is 3.1.

Please advise.

Ahmad,

Can you explain what is not working? Is it still the original issue with stalling at the registration form? I am still seeing EE3 active on your site. Like Lorenzo said, it is not currently a requirement to move to EE4. However, that is the version that you purchased, so you probably want to do that.

Hi Jonathan,

Like i said, i have an important event next week and i have already open the registration. When installing the EE4, it got stuck on the enter personal info, refer to my first post. But since the registration is already open for the event, i had to revert to the EE3 so that people can register. But I need to install the EE4 as there are advance features. How can i send you a snapshot of the error I am getting when using the EE4.

Also, in order to troubleshoot this issue, we will need EE4 to be active on your site. We made to postpone the troubleshooting until after the event.

Hi Ahmad,

Can you disable the video for the page with the ID of 193? That’s the page with the [REGISTRATION_CHECKOUT] shortcode on it. This will make things easier to debug because there’s a fair amount of errors on that page.

Hi Josh,
Video disabled. Still having issue and don’t think its related to the errors of the video as it is working fine with EE3 lite.
