Hi there,

I’m testing out Event Espresso 4 locally and have a few questions:

1. personal information – I want to add phone number but it’s not allowed
2. default values – I want to have tax checked as default – is there a way to do this?
3. Is there a way to batch upload? We have 20 events that need to be added each week and a batch upload function would be very beneficial to prevent mistakes

Hi Samantha,

On your first question, phone number is already a question within Event Espresso 4: http://cl.ly/image/100f20152I15

By default it is under the Address question group.

On your second question, you can speed up the creation of tickets that have taxes enabled by creating a default ticket. See this screenshot:

There is an import feature in WordPress admin –> Event Espresso –> Events –> Import. Let me locate a sample file for you and I’ll post that link shortly.

Thanks for the quick reply.

1. You are correct the phone number is already there but you can’t add it to the Personal Information group – the group is locked for some reason. Pls advise?

2. Thanks for the suggestion. Once I tried that, the original default one and the new default one both show up as defaults. I actually just want one, and to have the original default one to be taxable. Is there a way to do this?

Updates –
1. I fixed the phone # issue by changing it in the database
2. Still haven’t figured it out

One more question while you are at it with the sample file, can you set the thumbnail picture in the batch upload?

Hello again,

1) The phone number along with other address information is locked to the address question group. For a workaround, go to the question group for Address. Then remove the checkmark from phone number and save changes.

Next go to Questions and add a new question for phone number and save changes. From here, you can go to the Personal Information question group and place a checkmark in your new phone number question group.

2) The free ticket is a default ticket that is part of the core so its locked for editing. You can trash it using the trash icon: http://cl.ly/image/0D0l0v0M0V3I

I’m still working on the import file.
