Hello

We upgraded to PHP 8.0 and when trying to edit the event we couldn’t find the text. But when highlighted in the editor, the text appeared. Also, we couldn’t switch to the visual editor. When we reverted back to PHP 7.4 it worked fine. Could you please advise me?

Hi there,

That sounds like something is throwing a fatal error on the event editor and preventing the assets from loading later on, however, because of how the editor works and allows other plugins to work with EE’s event posts it doesn’t necessarily mean the issue is from Event Espresso itself.

I’m running EE4 on multiple test sites using PHP8 without the above issue, so we’ll need to try and narrow this down a little.

If you check your server error logs after switching to PHP8 and loading the event editor, can you see any error at the time of loading the page?
