This past weekend, my employer was attending a Sunday event we advertised on our organization’s website for 10:30am. He went to our site Saturday night before 8pm to refresh his memory on the details of the event, but the event was missing. Why would the event be missing on July 11, if I set the calendar event for July 12?

I noticed in our WordPress site that the first day of the week in the Event Expresso plugin and the first day of the week in “General Settings” of our website were set differently. One was set for Monday, the other for Sunday. Could this be a cause?

All other settings in the calendar event seemed normal–including proper date of the event (July 12), the event scheduled to be open to registration before & past the event (July 1-31), a start time for the event (10:30am), though I did not input an end time for the event. The time zone is set to US Eastern Time as it should be.

Any assistance appreciated. I need to insure this does not happen again. I do not have any reports of this happening before by my employer or other staff.

As an FYI, The way our website is set up, I have very limited access to the HTML structure of the site. I can edit a particular event html, but cannot alter any plugin html settings or website html settings.

Thanks!

Hi,

What version of EE are you using please (full version number)?

What was the start date and end dates and times please?

We are using Version 3.1.15.P of EE.

-The event was scheduled for proper date (Start July 12, End July 12).
-The event “registration” open (July 1-July 31)
-The event start time- 10:30am
-The event end time- none

I noticed the first day of the week was set to Sunday in EE. However, under our website’s “General Settings” the first day of the week was set to Monday. I have now set both to Sunday. However, would this have any affect on the events disappearance?

Hi there Mandie, the version of Event Espresso that you are using is several years old. Based on the version number, its likely older than 2012 and this is may be contributing to the unexpected issues that you are running into.

The first thing I would do is double-check that your site is set to a city or region near you instead of a UTC option. This can be found in the general settings area of WordPress. You mentioned that you may not have access to this so could you check with a team member?

Note that this is different than the settings page for Event Espresso.

Next, if you have any other plugins that deal with time such as an appointment or separate calendar (outside of Event Espresso), then they may be contributing to this. Do you currently have any other plugins that sound like this?
