Hi – Can you tell me why this event closed before the event date? We are using ee3. You can view an screenshot here: http://naplesinteragency.com/EE_CloseNIC.png Thanks ~ Joy |
Hi Joy, Your Registration End date is set to 2015-10-15 which basically closes the registrations for that event on that date- http://take.ms/928kY If you change that to match your event start date 2015-11-20 registrations will remain open until the day of the event. |
That shouldn’t close the event. It is the event end date that closes the event. Not the registrations. |
Here are the directions. Registration Dates: Add the start and end date for registration. Normally registration ends before the event starts but it can carry over until the event ends. You can set events to Expired when the registration date has gone, in General Settings. |
PS – I am not seeing anywhere to edit this in General Settings. Am I missing it? |
If your registration end date has passed the event will close as users can no longer register onto that event because it isn’t open for registration. If you want your events to remain open you’ll need to change that date to match either the event start or event end date. Can I ask how yo are expecting the events to work? There will likely be a way to setup your events to work how you need them to. |

It should show up on the calendars etc. |
Hi Joy, When that screenshot was taken, the event had already passed: http://cl.ly/image/0I0S3l021e3E You can see the time stamp in the bottom right area. Could you ensure that your site is set to a timezone or region near you and is not using a UTC setting in WP-admin –> Settings –> General? If that is not set correctly, then your site will use UTC time which will be several hours ahead and could contribute to events expiring ahead of local time. Next, are you wanting to show expired events on your events calendar? — |

Hi Lorenzo: I do have the time set to New York and not the UTC. The event end date is the 20th. And from what I am being told is that it quit showing on the calendar before that date. I just changed the date to see if it would show up and it isn’t. I was also told this was working on another site that we use EE and just tried it and it is not working. So my apologies. I should have tested it out before posting. But – what they are wanting is for it to show up on the calendar even though the registration is closed. It does show up on upcoming events, just not the calendar. Is this possible? Thanks, ~Joy |
You can set the calendar to display expired events using the show_expired attribute. So on your calendar page swap the shortcode to be [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR show_expired=true] and that event should be displayed. Is that what you are looking for? |
Yes! That is exactly what they are looking for. Thanks!!! |
Thanks for confirming Joy. Do enjoy your weekend! — |
