On my event category page, there is no ability to “edit page”. The event category continues to show the sidebar which I do not want to show. What “page” can I edit the page template on to use the “full width” page. I do not want to write any code please. http://www.pytayoga.com/event-category/pyt-level-1/ I am on wordpress 4.1.1, event espresso 4.6.12, new installation. |

Hi Dawn, There is no Page for event categories. Categories, tags and custom taxonomies (like the Event Categories) are displayed in what’s called an Archive page. This is something that WordPress dynamically generates and the theme controls the style of it. If you don’t want to touch code in any way, then the only way to change the Archive layout would be via the theme options. Some themes allow this, some don’t so it’s all down to whether your theme has that option or not. The documentation for your theme (Moesia – http://athemes.com/documentation/moesia/ ) doesn’t mention anything about controlling the layout, but I would double check the actual options as sometimes documentation lags behind the development. Hope that helps! |

thanks. that helps. I removed it from the archive template and it is no longer showing. what type of page is the event itself? |
Hi Dawn, single event pages are custom post types. Are you wanting to hide or remove something on your single event pages? Thanks — |

yes, the sidebar |
Hi, could you login to your WP dashboard and go to any event in the event editor (WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> Events). Along the right side, you may see an option like this: http://cl.ly/image/2F1U1U3o2Q3N Are you seeing anything in the dropdown that says full-width or no-sidebar? — |

yes, I have it set to full width. |

Hi, I took a look at the theme and it has one option for Post layouts, and this only allows the blog archive to be full width, not posts. This is the same for the events as well. I think the easiest option would be to use some CSS: .single-espresso_events .content-area { That will hide the sidebar on events and make the events full width. That CSS can be added to your themes style.css, though in order to preserve the CSS through theme updates we recommend adding it to either: a child themes style.css, your themes CSS options if it has any, or a plugin such as My Custom CSS. |
